Matte Marmorino Wall Finishes

Introduction to Lime Paint - White Wash

This traditional whitewash has regained a new dignity for those who like simple and natural products and are nostalgic for the past.

Modern synthetic paints can be substituted with lime paint to achieve a homey, softer effect, both to the touch and to the eyes. It is evocative of a time where old values and traditions were cherished.

The material comes in the natural white color and can be tinted with our Color System (107 colors from our color chart of color additives).

Very easy to apply.

How to apply Lime Paint

Applying whitewash is similar to the application of normal paint on internal or external walls. You can therefore use paint brushes or roller. Usually it’s necessary to apply two coats.

Preparing the surface: If it is applied to a wall which has already been painted with acrylic paint in good conditions or a newly wall which has been recently plaster with lime-based plaster, it is not necessary to apply a primer. The whitewash can be applied directly to the surface. With other surfaces , you should use a primer first.

Dilutions: normally, whitewash is diluted with water in a 1:1 proportion. Some painters prefer to dilute it more for the first coat and less for the second coat.

Maintenance of Lime Paint

Usually, no protection is required, but if desired normal protective materials for lime-based products can be applied
